Daren Wang is a writer, public radio producer, and social entrepreneur. He co-founded the AJC-Decatur Book Festival in 2005 and served as its executive director until 2017. He produced Porches: The South & Her Writers, Between The Lines, ArtVoice, and The Spoken Word for public radio. In 2005 he launched Verb: An Audioquarterly, Which was named one of the best five new magazines of the year by Library Journal.

His writing has appeared in Paste Magazine, Five Points Magazine, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, AJC Travel, The Saporta Report, ArtsATL, and others. The Hidden Light of Northern Fires is his first novel.

He is currently producing This Postage Stamp of Native Soil, an oral history project of Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia. He is co-founder of the Trifoliate Award Dinners, debuting in Autumn 2021.

 

He used to cheer for the Atlanta Braves before they moved to Cobb County. These days you should avoid topics around the Buffalo Bills unless you are ready for a long conversation. He's at his happiest when he's on his bike.
